Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- registration in state licensure program or equivalent schooling where applicable
- prior experience in optical and retail environments
- understanding of state or provincial licensing requirements
- familiarity with current optical theories and industry practices
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- proficiency in basic math
- awareness of fashion trends in eyewear
- strong customer service and sales abilities
- knowledge of store merchandise
- ability to operate POS systems, including cash registers and computers
- ability to work efficiently under supervision
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- registered in state licensure program or equivalent schooling where applicable
- previous optical and retail experience
- knowledge of state or provincial licensing and guidelines
- knowledge of current optical theory and practices
- strong communication and listening skills
- strong basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- awareness of current fashion trends
- strong interpersonal skills such as friendliness, caring, and patience
- sales skills
- knowledge of store merchandise
- familiarity with cash register, computers, and calculators
- prior sales training preferred
Job Duties
- Greets customers without delay
- shows urgency in providing service to customers and satisfying their needs
- determines the reason for the customer's visit, exchanges names, and explains how to shop at Pearle Vision
- identifies and escorts the customer to the appropriate location in store
- reviews prescriptions and identifies special needs under guidance
- consistently demonstrates adherence to Neighborhood Eye Care Experience standards
- performs work accurately and thoroughly
- identifies unsatisfied customers and acts quickly for resolution
- uses Eyewear Consultation Folder to educate customers on products, guarantees, and services
- under guidance, takes and records measurements, adjusts and fits eyewear carefully and correctly
- ensures finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requests
- troubleshoots vision issues and determines correct course of action
- demonstrates good product knowledge and explains features and benefits of lenses and frames
- assists customers in selecting frames and lenses best suited for their needs
- operates software systems to input customer and prescription information accurately
- operates cashier terminal, collects payments, and follows security procedures
- ensures customer awareness of expected delivery dates
- maintains store appearance, keeps displays and inventory organized
- informs management of safety concerns
- demonstrates safe work habits
