Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • 12 months experience as a cook or culinary school graduate
  • valid safe food handling and sanitation certificate from the State of Oklahoma

  • high school diploma or GED
  • 12 months experience as a cook or graduate of culinary school
  • valid safe food handling and sanitation certificate from the State of Oklahoma
  • ability to understand and convert measurements
  • basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and supplies
  • ability to plan a health conscience menu
  • ability to interpret information
  • ability to multitask
  • ability to understand profit and loss statement
  • familiarity with preparation of gourmet and specialty type menu items
  • some experience in menu planning and costing

Job Duties

  • Plan, develop, and assess costs for menus
  • prepare new recipes, entrees, salads, and other menu items
  • monitor and maintain physical inventory weekly and/or monthly
  • order produce and other food items daily
  • participate in ongoing skill development courses
  • prepare specialty foods such as pizzas, fish and chips, sandwiches, or tacos
  • clean and maintain food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils
  • perform various duties as needed to fulfill the position
