Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in personal care or related field preferred
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to personal care duties
- Ability to communicate clearly in English
- Must be able to follow instructions and complete tasks
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must be able to work compassionately with elderly residents and their families
- Must adhere to organizational policies and training manuals
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED preferred
- Basic computer skills
- Previous experience with geriatrics preferred but not required
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff
- Ability to follow directions and complete assigned tasks
- Ability to read, write, understand and speak English
- Ability to work with elderly residents, families, and other health care staff members
- Ability to adhere to United Church Homes Employee Handbook and UCH Cares Training Manual
Job Duties
- Provide personal care services to clients including dressing, bathing, toileting, personal hygiene
- Provide companionship and socialization services to clients
- Follow individualized service plans and complete assignments as given
- Provide light housekeeping and pet care services
- Transport residents and complete errands as requested
- Clean resident apartments including light housekeeping
- Provide medication reminders
- Prepare and deliver meals
- Complete daily paperwork in a timely manner
- Engage in daily communication with supervisors
- Perform all other duties as assigned or directed
