Job Requirements

  • maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
  • be under 70 years of age
  • flown commercially or in military within past 24 months
  • comply with all FAA regulations
  • demonstrate ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily
  • complete training and certifications as required
  • uphold safety as top priority
  • able to work 7 days on/7 days off schedule with 12-hour shifts

Job Qualifications

  • commercial pilot certificate with instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
  • airline transport pilot rating in category
  • first or second-class FAA medical certificate
  • minimum 2500 total flight hours with 2000 hours in category
  • at least 1000 hours PIC in category
  • 500 hours of cross-country flight time including 100 hours at night
  • 500 hours turbine time
  • 100 hours unaided night as PIC
  • 100 hours actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category
  • associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • bachelor’s degree preferred
  • ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and EMS representatives

Job Duties

  • Operate Air Methods' aircraft in a safe and legal manner
  • complete pre-flight checks and sign off the Daily Flight Log
  • perform thorough walk-arounds of the aircraft before and after each flight
  • maintain final authority pertaining to aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment
  • familiarize self and medical team with aircraft and medical systems
  • complete required operational documentation
  • conduct detailed flight planning with minimal notice
  • participate in company meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach
