Job Requirements
- maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
- be under 70 years of age
- flown commercially or in military within past 24 months
- comply with all FAA regulations
- demonstrate ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily
- complete training and certifications as required
- uphold safety as top priority
- able to work 7 days on/7 days off schedule with 12-hour shifts
Job Qualifications
- commercial pilot certificate with instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
- airline transport pilot rating in category
- first or second-class FAA medical certificate
- minimum 2500 total flight hours with 2000 hours in category
- at least 1000 hours PIC in category
- 500 hours of cross-country flight time including 100 hours at night
- 500 hours turbine time
- 100 hours unaided night as PIC
- 100 hours actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category
- associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- bachelor’s degree preferred
- ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and EMS representatives
Job Duties
- Operate Air Methods' aircraft in a safe and legal manner
- complete pre-flight checks and sign off the Daily Flight Log
- perform thorough walk-arounds of the aircraft before and after each flight
- maintain final authority pertaining to aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment
- familiarize self and medical team with aircraft and medical systems
- complete required operational documentation
- conduct detailed flight planning with minimal notice
- participate in company meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach
