Job Requirements

  • One year PBX receptionist experience, preferably in a hospital or medical setting
  • Ability to work with multiple telephone lines and handle a heavy volume of calls
  • Ability to work with many interruptions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where noise levels may fluctuate
  • None for education
  • None for required licensure or certifications

Job Qualifications

  • Good telephone public relations and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and non-verbally
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a professional demeanor
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and electronic mail preferred
  • Ability to type 35-40 words per minute
  • Knowledge of computer keyboard
  • One year PBX receptionist experience, preferably in a hospital or medical setting

Job Duties

  • Answering and directing calls on multiple telephone lines
  • Providing excellent telephone public relations and communication
  • Maintaining confidentiality of patients and facility
  • Interacting professionally and diplomatically with physicians, staff, and the public
  • Operating computer systems including Microsoft Word and email
  • Typing at 35-40 words per minute
  • Working independently and in an organized manner
