Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Job Qualifications
- Proficiency with computers and basic software applications such as Windows and Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- strong verbal and written communication skills including public speaking and group training
- ability to identify and resolve problems effectively
- experience thriving in a fast-paced environment managing multiple concurrent projects or tasks
- customer service experience with familiarity in event services and venue management
- ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- understanding and ability to apply University of Florida and UFPA policies and procedures
Job Duties
- Prepares front-of-house and hospitality services areas for events through direct work and supervision of OPS event staff
- Prepares event-related materials including signs, forms, and ticket scanners
- Manages recruitment, hiring, training, and oversight of front-of-house employees and volunteers
- Maintains and updates onboarding materials for staff and volunteers
- Oversees the reception office including opening and closing the building, managing mail and deliveries, answering and screening telephone calls, logging lost and found items, managing parking permits, and tracking attendance figures
- Supports the Event Services Coordinator in establishing staffing requirements and schedules
- Communicates schedules to staff and volunteers
- Acts as a backup for the Event Services Coordinator as needed
- Performs other duties assigned by management
