Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- 6-12 months of customer service or hospital experience
- ability to effectively speak, read, and write English
- ability to lift patients without limitations
- willingness to comply with hospital policies including safety and infection control
- ability to work part-time or per diem as scheduled
- reliable attendance and punctuality
- physical stamina for patient transport duties
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- 6-12 months of customer service or hospital experience
- ability to effectively speak, read, and write English
- ability to lift patients without limitations
- familiarity with hospital safety and infection control policies
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to follow directions and work collaboratively in a team
- basic knowledge of emergency response procedures
Job Duties
- provide safe and courteous patient transport within the hospital
- prepare and sanitize equipment such as stretchers and wheelchairs
- assist nursing staff with patient transfers using proper body mechanics
- transport patient paperwork and charts as required
- observe and report any patient health changes to nursing staff
- maintain and clean transport equipment, report defects
- communicate effectively with patients, nurses, and hospital staff to coordinate transport
- adhere to infection control and safety policies
- maintain patient confidentiality and privacy
- respond promptly to hospital codes and emergencies
- keep hallways clear by storing equipment properly
- assist in conference room setups as needed
- document daily activities and report service delays
