Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year of relevant experience
- Must be able to work assigned schedules including weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to move patients and equipment
- Ability to work full-time 40 hours per week
- Commitment to patient safety and infection control
- Reliable and punctual
- Willingness to take direction and ask for help when needed
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow safety and infection control protocols
- Basic knowledge of patient handling techniques
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to follow instructions and schedules
- Previous experience in patient transport or healthcare setting is a plus
Job Duties
- Move patients by wheelchair or cart throughout the hospital safely and efficiently
- Utilize infection prevention and patient transfer techniques
- Communicate effectively with nursing clinical staff
- Maintain and protect integrity of patient’s tubes, lines, and collection devices
- Transport patient valuables and equipment
- Follow appropriate hospital routes for patient transport
- Rotate through weekend and holiday shifts
