Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- good communication skills
- ability to follow infection prevention and patient transfer protocols
- physical ability to transport patients
- ability to work scheduled shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- prior experience in patient transport or healthcare setting preferred but not required
Job Duties
- move patients by wheelchair or car throughout the hospital for various reasons
- utilize infection prevention techniques and patient transfer techniques
- know and follow appropriate routes to assure patients are safely and efficiently moved
- communicate effectively with nursing clinical staff
- maintain and protect the integrity of patient tubes, lines, and collection devices
- move patient valuables and equipment
- work weekend and holiday rotations
