Job Requirements

  • Minimum age of 17 years
  • Must maintain current CPR certification
  • Ability to safely lift and position patients up to 35 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and safety protocols
  • Ability to follow hospital policies and procedures
  • Willingness to work overtime and additional shifts as required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Patient care experience in acute care or ambulatory surgery center desired
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Knowledge of medical abbreviations and terminology
  • Familiarity with hospital policies and aseptic techniques
  • Ability to maintain proper body mechanics
  • Experience with vital sign measurement and basic laboratory tasks
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Transports patients safely between all patient care areas using appropriate body mechanics
  • Prepares carts and beds for patients post-operation transfer
  • Transports specimens to laboratory promptly
  • Assists families to designated locations
  • Ensures patients are comfortable, warm, and safe during transport
  • Aids nursing staff in lifting and positioning patients on transport equipment
  • Assists with outpatient surgery tasks including patient prep and room cleaning
  • Manages delivery and restocking of supplies and equipment
  • Documents laboratory and patient information including vital signs and blood glucose levels
  • Participates in education, training, and departmental meetings
  • Completes assigned duties and projects as required
