Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent experience
- Experience recognizing needs and behaviors of various patient age groups preferred
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and different shifts
- Ability to perform patient lifting and transfer activities
- Use of safe body mechanics
- Ability to operate department equipment
- CPR certification within 90 days
- Flexibility and reliability
- Ability to follow infection control and safety protocols
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent experience
- Prior experience working with various patient age groups preferred
- Good communication skills
- Ability to anticipate patient and unit needs
- Customer service skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Basic math skills
- CPR certification obtained within 90 days of hire
Job Duties
- Prepares the patient for transport while waiting for nursing assistance
- Reports delays or canceled tests to the dispatcher and hospital personnel
- Completes work assignments within established time guidelines
- Works independently and utilizes appropriate resources
- Maintains communication with dispatcher and responds to special instructions
- Assists co-workers with lifting patients and provides safe transport
- Follows oxygen usage guidelines as set by the hospital
