Job Requirements

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English
  • High school level education or equivalent
  • Physical ability to perform essential duties
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • 2-4 weeks of on the job training
  • Demonstrate knowledge of patient identification procedures

Job Duties

  • Transport patients and patient-related materials throughout the hospital campus
  • Transport patients via wheelchair, bed, or stretcher to and from clinical and ancillary departments
  • Assist clinical personnel with transferring patients to or from beds, chairs, wheelchairs, and stretchers
  • Support department areas as directed by the dispatcher
  • Collect and sign off specimens, cultures, orders, and requisitions
  • Deliver audiovisual equipment to appropriate destinations
  • Maintain department policies related to quality assurance, safety, environmental protocols, and infection control
  • Clean and store equipment upon job completion
  • Perform other related duties as required
