Job Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma
  • Valid Iowa driver’s license
  • At least one year experience in a residential environment preferred
  • Ability to work daily using standard office equipment
  • Ability to use computer systems and technology effectively
  • Ability to use independent judgment analytical and decision-making skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • This position involves frequent sitting and/or standing for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred AA degree or professional certification such as Certified Treatment Assistant
  • At least one year experience in a residential environment preferred
  • Ability to use computer systems and software effectively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good human relations and team working skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to use independent judgment and decision-making skills

Job Duties

  • Provide a consistent level of supervision for patients outside patient treatment sessions
  • Monitor behaviors and conversations during meal times ensuring patients eat well-balanced meals
  • Document observations in patient case files and complete forms as directed by Patient Support Supervisor
  • Facilitate educational sessions with patients as needed
  • Ensure medication storage area is secured and patients are monitored when they take medications
  • Report all patient injuries and critical incidents according to ASAC policies and procedures
  • Conduct patient urinalyses following agency policies and procedures
  • Provide patient transportation to meetings appointments and medical treatment
  • Assist patients in on-site games crafts or recreation activities and transport patients to off-site recreational areas according to weekly treatment schedule
  • Maintain an orderly facility by monitoring and assisting patients with cleaning tasks
  • Monitor facility security systems to ensure patients and visitors are in appropriate areas at appropriate times and follow confidentiality guidelines
  • Ensure bedrooms are locked at appropriate times and key control is maintained
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
