Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two to three years experience in culinary roles
  • Post-high school education preferably in culinary arts
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to manage and lead a culinary team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Flexibility to work variable hours including events and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Two to three years experience in a related culinary position
  • Possess two to three years of post-high school education, preferably a culinary degree
  • Advanced knowledge of principles and practices within the food profession
  • Experiential knowledge required for management of people and/or problems
  • Excellent oral, reading, and written communication skills
  • Willingness to be hands-on with staff and operations
  • Ability to work event-based hours including evenings and weekends

Job Duties

  • Supervise and participate in the production, preparation, and presentation of all foods for assigned units
  • Ensure sufficient inventory is maintained to meet daily needs
  • Record deliveries and deal with discrepancies
  • Assist with proper storage of food products
  • Maintain proper handling of all food products and kitchen equipment to ensure food safety
  • Ensure cleanliness and high sanitation standards at all times
  • Interview, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach, and counsel culinary staff
  • Resolve staffing and operational problems
  • Provide open communication and recommend discipline as appropriate
