Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous customer service experience
  • previous medical or dental receptionist experience or background in office work preferred
  • knowledge of office equipment including computers and copiers
  • ability to work independently and ensure timely work completion
  • strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • effective communication skills
  • physical ability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • willingness to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • commitment to adhere to medical ethics and confidentiality policies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • bilingual Spanish preferred
  • previous customer service experience
  • previous medical or dental receptionist experience or general office work preferred
  • additional training or experience in office procedures and medical/dental terminology preferred
  • proficient with modern office practices and equipment
  • ability to work independently and maintain accuracy
  • strong problem-solving skills
  • capacity to learn new concepts quickly
  • excellent organizational skills
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • compassion and nurturing attitude toward patients
  • comfortable interacting with diverse populations

Job Duties

  • Greet and check in patients arriving for appointments
  • verify patient information and clinical visit type in ECW software
  • confirm insurance coverage and update patient demographics
  • assist with next day appointment reminders
  • prepare paperwork for patients prior to appointments
  • document patient cancellations and no-shows per protocol
  • receive deliveries and distribute to appropriate personnel
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of reception and waiting areas
  • uphold patient confidentiality at all times
