Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous customer service experience
- ability to use medical office software such as EClinical Works
- excellent communication skills
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- ability to sit or stand for long periods
- capability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds
- willingness to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional schedule variations
- sensitivity to socio-economic and cultural diversity
- ability to handle stressful situations with patience and professionalism
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- bilingual Spanish preferred
- previous customer service experience
- previous medical or dental receptionist experience preferred
- additional training or experience in office procedures and medical or dental terminology preferred
- thorough knowledge of modern office practices and equipment
- ability to work independently and organize work effectively
- demonstrated problem-solving skills
- innovative input in office process development
- ability to learn new concepts quickly
- excellent organization and commitment to accuracy

- good verbal and written communication skills

- ability to communicate well in-person and by phone
Job Duties
- Greets and check in patients arriving for an appointment, helps patients feel welcome
- verifies necessary information for patient appointments including current patient data in ECW and type of clinical visit
- verifies patient insurance coverage and ensures demographic information accuracy prior to appointments
- assists with next day appointment reminders and notes actions in ECW
- prepares paperwork for patients to complete before appointments
- documents patient cancellations and no-shows following protocol
- receives deliveries and distributes to appropriate personnel
- maintains cleanliness and orderliness of reception and waiting areas
- maintains patient confidentiality at all times
