Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one year of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab service support, or related experience
  • ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members
  • basic computer skills including familiarity with EHR systems
  • capability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload
  • commitment to patient privacy and compliance with healthcare regulations
  • availability to work variable hours including weekends

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum one year of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab service support, or related field
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • proficiency with electronic health records and standard office software
  • customer service orientation

Job Duties

  • Serve as a concierge - greet and communicate with patients or visitors
  • perform clerical functions including answering practice phone calls
  • schedule patient appointments using a decision tree where applicable
  • order supplies
  • generate patient letters
  • process and sort mail and supply deliveries
  • process registration reports
  • identify and remind patients of health maintenance gaps
  • document patient phone calls in EHR for call routing and resolution
  • perform patient registration and check-in by confirming patient demographic and insurance information
  • assist patients with self-registration and arrival
  • perform patient check-out including scheduling or confirming follow-up appointments
  • maintain patient medical records according to standards
  • upload Right Fax documents into EPIC
  • perform basic EMR/EHR scanning
  • actively participate in safety initiatives and risk mitigation
  • complete all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on time
