Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab service support, or related experience
- ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members
- basic computer skills including familiarity with EHR systems
- capability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload
- commitment to patient privacy and compliance with healthcare regulations
- availability to work variable hours including weekends
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum one year of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab service support, or related field
- strong communication skills
- ability to work effectively in a team environment
- proficiency with electronic health records and standard office software
- customer service orientation
Job Duties
- Serve as a concierge - greet and communicate with patients or visitors
- perform clerical functions including answering practice phone calls
- schedule patient appointments using a decision tree where applicable
- order supplies
- generate patient letters
- process and sort mail and supply deliveries
- process registration reports
- identify and remind patients of health maintenance gaps
- document patient phone calls in EHR for call routing and resolution
- perform patient registration and check-in by confirming patient demographic and insurance information
- assist patients with self-registration and arrival
- perform patient check-out including scheduling or confirming follow-up appointments
- maintain patient medical records according to standards
- upload Right Fax documents into EPIC
- perform basic EMR/EHR scanning
- actively participate in safety initiatives and risk mitigation
- complete all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on time
