Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years experience in medical office receptionist or scheduler preferred
- basic computer knowledge
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- strong communication skills
- good attendance
- fluent in English
- ability to maintain good working relationships within and across departments
- less than 1% travel required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- medical career college program or medical assistant degree preferred
- 2+ years experience in medical office receptionist or patient access preferred
- experience in primary care or specialty physician office preferred
- basic computer knowledge
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to organize tasks and develop action plans
- ability to work under stress and maintain good working relationships
- fluent in English
Job Duties
- Greets patients upon arrival
- checks patients in and completes intake process including insurance verification and demographic updates
- performs electronic chart pre-load
- scans documents to patient charts
- collects and posts copays, deductibles, and past due balances
- answers telephone calls and takes appropriate action
- performs daily opening and closing procedures
- manages scheduling by creating, modifying, and canceling appointments
- documents medication refill requests
- manages medical records in both electronic and hard-copy formats
- multitasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- communicates pleasantly and makes decisive decisions
- participates in orientation and training of new staff
- follows management directives
- performs additional duties as assigned
