Job Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Completion of a 9-month program in a medical career college with a focus on front office duties or Medical Assistant degree preferred
- Two or more years of experience in medical office receptionist, patient access, or medical scheduler roles preferred
- Experience in primary care or specialty physician office settings preferred
- Basic computer knowledge
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities, and function effectively in stressful situations
- Ability to maintain good working relationships within and outside the department
- Good and regular attendance
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking fluent English
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to perform other related duties as assigned
- Less than 1 percent travel required
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Greets patients as they arrive at the clinic
- Checks patients in and completes the intake process including insurance verification and updating demographic information
- Performs electronic chart pre-load process
- Scans documents to the patient electronic chart
- Collects and posts co-pays and other monies due at the time of service for current and past-due balances
- Answers phone calls and takes necessary actions including utilizing messaging systems and overhead triage paging
- Performs daily opening and closing procedures including telephone management and generating morning close-out reports
- Creates, modifies, and cancels patient appointments for scheduling
- Documents requests for medication refills in the electronic system
- Manages medical records both hard-copy and electronic
- Multitasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Communicates clearly and pleasantly with patients and staff while making decisive decisions
- Participates in orientation, instruction, and training of new personnel
- Performs additional duties as assigned and follows management directives
