Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab service support or related experience
- vocational or technical one year certificate from college or technical school preferred
Job Duties
- Serve as a concierge greeting and communicating with patients or visitors
- perform clerical functions including answering practice phone calls, scheduling patient appointments using a decision tree, ordering supplies, generating patient letters, processing mail and supply deliveries, and processing registration reports
- identify and remind patients of health maintenance gaps
- document patient phone calls in electronic health records for call routing and resolution
- perform patient registration and check-in by confirming patient demographic and insurance information, assist patients with self registration and arrival
- perform patient check-out by scheduling follow-up appointments or confirming future appointments
- maintain patient medical records according to standards and upload documents into electronic health record systems
- perform basic electronic medical record scanning
- actively participate in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures
- complete all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis
