Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three years customer service experience
- Preferred associates degree
- Preferred one year patient services experience
- Preferred Epic EHR experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Familiarity with appointment scheduling
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of insurance payer and eligibility
- Team player
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Neat and professional appearance
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to complete ongoing training
- Flexible schedule availability
- Ability to work Monday through Friday shifts between 6:30 AM and 8:00 PM
- No weekend availability
- Ability to travel occasionally to nearby clinics
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associates degree preferred with healthcare concentration considered a plus
- Minimum three years of experience in a customer service role
- At least one year of experience in a patient services role preferred
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems, Epic preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Familiarity with insurance payer and eligibility processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with a professional and neat appearance
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Willingness to attend ongoing training to maintain job responsibilities
Job Duties
- Welcome patients and visitors by providing and maintaining the highest quality customer service experience
- Prepare paperwork to facilitate efficient operation and excellent customer service
- Answer general inquiries
- Schedule and rearrange patient appointments
- Handle phone reception, patient triage, and escalate issues to appropriate staff
- Perform registration and pre-registration procedures including reviewing patient demographics and insurance information
- Manage check-in and check-out procedures
- Organize and maintain patient chart management
- Collect and post patient responsibility payments including copays and deductibles
- Verify insurance and manage referrals as required
- Assist in training and mentoring new staff
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Perform other office duties as assigned
