Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- some receptionist or office experience preferred
- proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- ability to complete required e-learning courses within 90 days
- at least eighteen months front medical office receptionist experience for Level 2
- knowledge of practice personnel and scheduling for Level 2
- at least 5 years front medical office receptionist experience for Senior Level
- ability to sit and use hands regularly
- occasional standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms
- ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds
- vision and hearing corrected to normal ranges

- at least 5 years front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software required for Senior Level
Job Duties
- Greet patients and visitors to the clinic in a prompt, courteous and professional manner
- check in patients and inform clinical staff of patient arrival
- provide and explain paperwork for the patient to complete prior to examination
- collect, proof for completeness, and file patient forms
- update demographics and insurance information in the system
- collect co-pays and balances
- provide receipt
- answer, screen, and respond to routine questions
- route to appropriate personnel or take thorough messages
- page clinic personnel as appropriate
- communicate messages in an accurate and timely manner according to procedures
- check patients out after examination
- schedule returning appointments in accordance with physician and/or office guidelines
- provide patients with appointment details such as time, location, directions, instruction sheets, and other details
- record patient cancellations and missed appointments
- reschedule appointments
- notify appropriate staff of cancellation and make note in patient chart
- provide general administrative support by filing charts and forms
- maintain lobby area in a neat and orderly manner
- maintain a legible supply of forms and appropriate office supplies required for daily activities
- adhere to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPPA laws and guidelines with regards to patient records
- perform other duties as requested or assigned
- type memos and forms as needed
