Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 1 to 3 years in commercial or institutional food preparation preferred
- SERV-Safe certification or equivalent certification required or ability to obtain within first year
- Extensive communication, customer interaction and teamwork skills required
- Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position
- Keyboarding or computer skills helpful
- Ability to multitask and perform duties as assigned
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation helpful
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 1 to 3 years experience in commercial or institutional food preparation preferred
- SERV-Safe certification or equivalent certification from the Virginia Health Department required or ability to obtain within first year
- Strong communication and customer interaction skills
- Ability to multitask and perform duties as assigned
- Keyboarding or computer skills for automated systems helpful
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation helpful
Job Duties
- Prepares food according to standard recipes and/or standard retherm process
- Completes required documentation including temperature logs as per documentation requirements
- Participates in department activities and meetings including orientation of co-workers and patient/customer satisfaction initiatives
- Completes general food service tasks such as cashiering, tray assembly and/or delivery, and dishwashing with related cleaning
- Applies basic knowledge and advanced skills in patient care food service
- Resolves most issues and problems independently, referring complex issues to supervisor
- Maintains cleanliness and adheres to food safety and sanitation protocols
