Job Requirements

  • Associate degree in foodservice or hospitality related field preferred
  • Minimum of three years supervisory experience in food related industry
  • Strong organizational, motivational, problem solving and supervisory skills
  • Excellent knowledge of computer operations
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and nights
  • Physical ability to perform tasks involving bending, standing, walking, twisting and climbing
  • Compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health sanitation requirements
  • Ability to manage scheduling, attendance and overtime effectively
  • Ability to handle cash control and budget management tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree in foodservice or hospitality related field preferred
  • Minimum of three years supervisory experience in food related industry
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient computer operation skills
  • Knowledge of food service business management
  • Knowledge of Illinois Department of Public Health service sanitation

Job Duties

  • Responsible for achieving patient and customer satisfaction scores and quality assurance processes as related to hospital and patient services standards
  • Promote patient safety by reporting issues through established channels and participating in safety initiatives
  • Monitor and evaluate customer satisfaction and recommend changes or programs to meet customer satisfaction goals
  • Achieve meal services Press Ganey scores that meet or exceed targets and monitor department associates utilization of hospital-related programs
  • Monitor adherence to all food safety and sanitation requirements
  • Oversee completion of all required activities including refrigeration and sanitation logs
  • Ensure all trayline activities are completed per policy and documented including tray accuracy audits and taste testing
  • Manage food service department processes to ensure high quality products and services
  • Monitor duties and responsibilities of all associates and address work related problems with appropriate actions
  • Implement and monitor proper training and competency checks for associates
  • Assist in overseeing cash control processes and ensure timely revenue drops
  • Maintain hostess program to meet food service needs
  • Assist in interviewing new hires
  • Conduct yearly competencies and performance appraisals
  • Ensure completion of required hospital-associated training and compliance
  • Participate in self development and education programs
  • Manage budget expenditures within guidelines
  • Process PTO requests and maintain accurate records
  • Track and monitor employee attendance and manage overtime
  • Schedule staff effectively within budget constraints
  • Monitor proper portion control and food presentation
  • Ensure equipment is working properly and maintain cleanliness
  • Recommend equipment replacements
  • Assist in managing department revenue and expense budget
  • Track food production and conduct audits to minimize overproduction
