Job Requirements

  • 1 year customer service experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a medical receptionist or equivalent training program preferred
  • Ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute with 0-2 errors
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Ability to work variable shifts with no weekends
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a medical receptionist or equivalent training program
  • Customer service experience
  • Medical or hospital setting experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred

Job Duties

  • Represents Sharp Rees-Stealy by providing patients with appointments, information and other operational support services for assigned department
  • Provides a high level of customer service in a manner consistent with our Mission and Goals
  • Responsible for patient registration, demographic and insurance updates
  • Confirms insurance eligibility and obtains authorizations for service
  • Works with patients to resolve billing and insurance related issues
  • Schedules appointments following provider guidelines
  • Maintains supply levels and general departmental flow
