Job Requirements

  • 1 year customer service experience
  • Ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute with 0-2 errors
  • Knowledge of patient registration and insurance verification procedures
  • Ability to manage cash handling and prepare deposits accurately
  • Effective communication skills
  • Flexibility to meet clinic needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a medical receptionist or equivalent training program preferred
  • Medical or hospital setting experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Proficient typing skills with a minimum of 30 words per minute and 0-2 errors
  • Customer service experience

Job Duties

  • Represent Sharp Rees-Stealy by providing patients with appointments, information, and operational support services for assigned department
  • Provide high-level customer service consistent with Mission and Goals
  • Perform patient registration, demographic and insurance updates
  • Confirm insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations for service
  • Work with patients to resolve billing and insurance-related issues
  • Manage appointment scheduling following provider guidelines
  • Maintain supply levels, patient brochures, and exam preparations
  • Follow cash receipt policies including balancing and securing cash drawer and preparing daily deposit
