Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferably prior experience as a medical receptionist or patient service representative
  • Excellent customer service skills including verbal and written communication
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Highly adaptable and flexible to changing priorities
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules and provide coverage at satellite locations

Job Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Notify appropriate personnel to meet and escort patients to exam rooms
  • Route phone calls promptly and professionally via direct transfer, paging, voicemail, or redirect
  • Retrieve and route messages from the answering service
  • Screen solicitors courteously for relevance
  • Perform registration functions and activate patient files
  • Collect and record copayments as required
  • Verify insurance eligibility and communicate benefit limitations
  • Assist with scheduling and modifying patient appointments
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient encounters
  • Provide support to patients and medical staff
  • Work collaboratively with clinical colleagues, management, and staff
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs and policies including HIPAA and OSHA
  • Adhere to practice policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrate commitment to organizational mission, values, and ethical standards
  • Contribute to a positive work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
