Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- at least one year of related experience and/or six months front of house experience
- one year customer service experience
- bilingual skills strongly preferred and required in some positions
- ability to work effectively with diverse economic, social, and cultural backgrounds
- ability to work in fast-paced settings
- ability to prioritize and respond to shifting demands
- proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook
- experience with electronic health records
- understanding of medical terminology
- certification from a recognized patient access organization preferred
- ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- commitment to providing excellent customer service and maintaining high accuracy in patient registrations and scheduling
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- at least one year of experience in related field and/or six months of front of house experience
- one year of customer service experience
- bilingual strongly preferred
- ability to work cohesively and respectfully with diverse populations
- ability to work in fast-paced, changing environments
- ability to prioritize work and respond to shifting priorities
- consistently exceeds quality and productivity standards in patient registration and customer service
- demonstrates knowledge of organizational policies and procedures
- technical proficiency in basic computer applications including Microsoft Office and Outlook
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- six months of previous HHS experience
- associate degree with healthcare or business concentration preferred or two years customer service experience in similar clinic or ambulatory healthcare environment
- certification from HFMA, NAHAM, or HBI Patient Access Certification
- experience with EHR systems, preferably Epic
- understanding of medical terminology
- knowledge of different payer and insurance requirements
- bilingual fluency in English/Spanish, English/Somali or other languages including ASL
Job Duties
- Welcomes patients and guests in a friendly manner following the 'I am Welcomed' standard workflow
- provides navigation assistance to all patients and guests
- utilizes the electronic health record accurately and efficiently for patient check-in, point of service collections, registration, patient check-out, insurance verification
- ensures personal workspace and patient waiting areas are neat and sanitized
- handles patient financial transactions including cash box, cash collections, credit/debit card transactions, daily reconciliation
- promotes the organization and assists in maintaining clinic efficiency
- provides scheduling support for contracted providers and specialty departments
- provides support for providers with urgent requests
- manages special patient needs
- maintains Clerical Pool In-basket messages and completes them appropriately
- receives and processes medical forms and delivers to clinical team
- assists with processing time sensitive patient needs
- performs other duties as assigned
