Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate
  • Previous experience in data entry in a private physician setting, preferably OB/GYN or Family Practice
  • Fluent in Spanish and English, able to speak, read, and write both languages
  • Skilled in data entry
  • Strong communication skills with proper English grammar
  • Customer service experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance
  • Knowledge of insurance industry and financial policies

Job Duties

  • Translation from Spanish to English or English to Spanish for patients with language barriers
  • Accurately entering all demographic information into the system timely
  • Completing demographic screens on each patient
  • Updating insurance plans and entering new insurance information
  • Setting primary and secondary insurance coverage
  • Accepting and posting payments
  • Printing and supplying paperwork for patients
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Posting "no-charge" visits and routing chargeable visits to the Business Office
  • Performing other related duties as assigned
