Job Requirements
- Ability to work specified hours including days, rotating weekends and holidays
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Effective communication skills including listening and speaking
- Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
- Physical ability to perform essential job functions including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Willingness to comply with safety laws, regulations, and standards such as CMS, The Joint Commission, DHHS, and OSHA

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Prior experience in food service
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to food preparation and service
- Basic communication skills to interact effectively with team and patients
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- Commitment to Avera’s values of compassion, hospitality, and stewardship
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work cooperatively within a team environment
Job Duties
- Completes assigned tray line positions in an efficient and timely manner
- Delivers patient meal trays to Ambassador staff efficiently and punctually
- Cleans and stores dishware, silverware, and cooking equipment according to department standards
- Completes assigned cleaning tasks according to department standards
- Records food and equipment temperatures and takes appropriate action
- Stores and/or disposes of food items not used on the tray line according to department standards
- Completes simple food preparation and assembles nutrition items for patient areas
- Completes documentation to track food cost and delivers items as requested according to department standards
