Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of hire
  • Physical ability to use patient assist equipment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance
  • Completion of annual refresher training for patient transport equipment
  • Ability to report safety hazards and maintain a safe work environment

Job Duties

  • Demonstrates competence in critical thinking interpersonal relationships and technical skills
  • Demonstrates ability to provide care safely and efficiently for each patient
  • Maintains a safe working environment on the valet ramp and reports unsafe conditions
  • Presents a neat and clean appearance appropriate for a professional healthcare environment
  • Demonstrates and maintains a high level of professionalism
  • Ensures all arriving patients and guests are greeted courteously and helpfully
  • Solves problems effectively and communicates with internal and external customers
  • Provides information regarding hospital, transportation, parking services and rates
  • Organizes and leads work efforts to ensure high customer and patient satisfaction
  • Uses patient assist equipment in the movement and transfer of patients
  • Informs Dispatcher and relevant departments of urgent or special patient needs
  • Assists Information Desk with directions for patients and visitors
  • Maintains a patient-centered focus and supports hospital mission and values
  • Performs daily work assignments efficiently and accurately
  • Reports equipment malfunctions promptly
  • Attends annual refresher training to demonstrate competency with transportation equipment
  • Operates oxygen tanks, wheelchairs, stretchers, lift chairs, telemetry monitors, slide-boards and Air-Pal equipment safely
  • Performs professional clinical and technical competencies as required
  • Other duties as assigned
