Job Requirements

  • Prior customer service experience preferred
  • Willingness to train
  • Ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to work on an on-call schedule including weekends
  • Ability to follow food safety and infection control policies

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills
  • Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to maneuver and push food delivery carts

Job Duties

  • Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure their orders comply with their nutritional requirements or restrictions
  • Work with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies, cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences
  • Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection in a timely and accurate manner
  • Retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times
  • Comply with regulatory agency standards including federal, state and JCAHO
  • Adhere to HIPAA policies and procedures
  • Follow Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines when handling food and cleaning work stations
  • Assist dietitians by monitoring patients on liquid diets or specific calorie counts
  • Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner
  • Complete all required reports as outlined in company policies
  • Comply with health and sanitation regulations and perform other assigned duties
