Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of patient scheduling or registration work experience in healthcare
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Experience with appointment scheduling in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in communication including clear speaking and legible writing
  • Ability to handle fast-paced, noisy environments and multiple priorities
  • Physical ability to perform duties including prolonged standing and sitting, bending, walking, repetitive motions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of patient scheduling or registration experience in healthcare
  • Strong customer service skills with a patient-centered focus
  • Experience with medical insurance, HMO, managed care preferred
  • Familiarity with GE/IDX and Cerner order entry systems preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and schedule appointments for multiple locations
  • Review medical records and documentation for completeness
  • Interface with nursing staff to confirm appointment appropriateness and obtain preauthorization
  • Monitor and manage patient cancellations promptly
  • Utilize wait lists to optimize clinic access for patients
  • Provide high-quality customer service to patients, families, and medical staff
  • Perform patient access representative tasks as required
