Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum two years of patient scheduling or registration work experience in healthcare
- Strong customer service skills
- Experience with appointment scheduling in a healthcare setting
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficient in communication including clear speaking and legible writing
- Ability to handle fast-paced, noisy environments and multiple priorities
- Physical ability to perform duties including prolonged standing and sitting, bending, walking, repetitive motions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years of patient scheduling or registration experience in healthcare
- Strong customer service skills with a patient-centered focus
- Experience with medical insurance, HMO, managed care preferred
- Familiarity with GE/IDX and Cerner order entry systems preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
Job Duties
- Coordinate and schedule appointments for multiple locations
- Review medical records and documentation for completeness
- Interface with nursing staff to confirm appointment appropriateness and obtain preauthorization
- Monitor and manage patient cancellations promptly
- Utilize wait lists to optimize clinic access for patients
- Provide high-quality customer service to patients, families, and medical staff
- Perform patient access representative tasks as required
