Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of experience in patient scheduling or registration
  • Ability to lift 50-100 lbs
  • Capacity for prolonged standing, sitting, and repetitive motions
  • Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to comply with all organizational policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of patient scheduling or registration experience in a healthcare setting
  • Strong customer service and patient-centered approach
  • Familiarity with medical insurance, HMO, managed care preferred
  • Experience with GE/IDX, Cerner order entry, and medical terminology preferred
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and schedule patient appointments and initial consults
  • Review and verify completeness of medical records and appointment documentation
  • Interface with nursing staff for appointment appropriateness and preauthorization
  • Monitor and process patient appointment cancellations promptly
  • Manage wait lists to improve patient access to clinics
  • Provide courteous and efficient customer service to patients, families, medical staff, and visitors
  • Perform all aspects of patient access representative duties as needed
