Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of experience in patient scheduling or registration in a healthcare setting
- Proven customer service skills with a positive approach
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to perform prolonged standing, sitting, bending, walking, climbing and repetitive motions
- Strong mental skills including reasoning, problem-solving, logical thinking, clear communication, and legible writing
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of patient scheduling or registration experience in a healthcare setting
- Strong customer service skills with a patient-centered focus
- Experience with medical insurance, HMO, managed care, GE/IDX, Cerner order entry, appointment scheduling, and medical terminology preferred
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills
- Adaptability to a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Coordinate and schedule appointments for initial consults and treatment plans across multiple locations
- Review medical records, appointment lists, and scanned documents to ensure completeness for patient evaluation
- Interface with nursing staff to confirm appointment appropriateness and obtain necessary preauthorizations
- Monitor and process patient cancellations promptly while managing waitlists to optimize clinic access
- Provide courteous, respectful, and efficient customer service to patients, families, visitors, medical staff, and clinicians
- Schedule or reschedule appointments as needed and perform related Patient Access Representative responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders ensuring a seamless patient experience
