Job Description

The Patient Concierge Representative role is an essential position within a healthcare environment, responsible for coordinating and scheduling patient appointments across multiple locations and services. This role functions as the primary point of contact for patients and their families, assuring an efficient, courteous, and supportive experience from the initial consult to treatment plans such as infusion and outpatient diagnostic services. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of two years experience in patient scheduling or registration
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • capacity to handle fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • physical ability to perform tasks including lifting, standing, sitting, bending, walking, and reaching
  • adaptability to frequent changes and intense customer interactions

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • minimum of two years patient scheduling or registration experience in a healthcare setting
  • strong customer service skills
  • patient-centered focus in all situations
  • preferred three years experience with medical insurance and managed care
  • familiarity with GE/IDX, Cerner order entry, appointment scheduling, and medical terminology
  • associate or bachelor degree in accounting, finance, business administration, healthcare administration, or related field preferred

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and schedule patient appointments for multiple locations
  • review medical records and appointment documentation for completeness
  • interface with nursing staff for appointment appropriateness and obtain preauthorization
  • monitor and process patient appointment cancellations in a timely manner
  • utilize wait lists to optimize clinic access
  • provide quality customer service to patients, families, visitors, medical staff, and coworkers
  • perform patient access representative duties as needed
