Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- minimum two years of patient scheduling or registration experience in healthcare setting
- ability to perform daily activities with minimal supervision
- capable of self-directed work to accomplish routine duties
- strong recall, reasoning, problem-solving, and communication skills
- able to lift 50 to 100 pounds
- able to stand, sit, bend, walk, climb, and reach extensively
- able to handle a fast-paced environment and multiple priorities
- able to adapt to frequent change and noisy workplace
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- minimum two years of patient scheduling or registration experience in healthcare
- strong customer service skills and patient-centered approach
- familiarity with medical insurance, HMO, managed care preferred
- experience with GE/IDX and Cerner order entry systems preferred
- knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, healthcare administration, or related field preferred
Job Duties
- Coordinate and schedule patient appointments for multiple locations and services
- review medical records and appointment documents for completeness and accuracy
- communicate with nursing staff to verify appointment appropriateness and obtain preauthorization
- monitor and process patient cancellations promptly
- utilize wait lists to improve clinic accessibility for patients
- provide courteous and respectful customer service to patients, families, visitors, and medical staff
- perform all aspects of patient access representative duties as needed
