Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of patient scheduling or registration experience
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting 50-100 lbs, prolonged standing and sitting
  • Proficient in appointment scheduling systems such as GE/IDX and Cerner
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to handle frequent customer interactions and adapt to change
  • No licensure or certification required
  • Ability to work independently and notify management of policy violations

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of patient scheduling or registration experience in healthcare
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Knowledge of medical insurance, HMO, managed care
  • Experience with GE/IDX or Cerner order entry
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Preferred associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, healthcare administration or related field
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and schedule appointments for initial consults,treatment plans including infusion and outpatient diagnostic services
  • Review medical records, appointment lists, and scanned documents to ensure completeness
  • Interface with nursing staff regarding appointment appropriateness and obtain preauthorization as required
  • Monitor and process patient cancellations promptly, offer wait list options to improve access
  • Provide quality customer service to patients, families, visitors, and medical staff
  • Schedule or reschedule appointments for multiple locations
  • Perform general Patient Access Representative duties as needed
