Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years prior patient scheduling or registration experience in a healthcare setting
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to handle fast-paced environment and multiple priorities
- Physical ability to perform prolonged standing, sitting, bending, walking, climbing, and repetitive motion
- Mental capability for strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, and clear communication
- Ability to adapt to frequent changes and intense interactions
- Immediate notification to management of policy violations
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of patient scheduling or registration experience in healthcare
- Strong customer service skills with a patient-focused approach
- Preferred experience with medical insurance, HMO, managed care, GE/IDX, Cerner order entry, appointment scheduling
- Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field
- Ability to perform independently with minimal supervision
Job Duties
- Coordinates and schedules appointments for initial consults and treatment plans
- Reviews medical records and documentation to ensure completeness
- Interfaces with nursing staff regarding appointment appropriateness and obtains preauthorization
- Monitors and processes patient appointment cancellations promptly
- Utilizes waitlists to improve clinic access for new and established patients
- Provides quality customer service to patients, families, staff, and clinicians
- Performs patient access representative duties as needed
