Job Requirements

  • Associates degree preferred, may substitute equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working in an office environment, answering phones, and scheduling
  • Proficiency in dental software usage
  • Strong communication skills
  • Effective time management and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to follow CDC and safety guidelines for cleanliness
  • Willingness to be trained in sterilization techniques
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a team

Job Qualifications

  • Associates degree preferred, may substitute equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office products at an intermediate level
  • Experience working in an office environment, answering phones, and scheduling
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management skills with ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to function effectively in a time-sensitive environment while meeting multiple deadlines

Job Duties

  • Answers phones promptly, professionally, and pleasantly
  • Effectively uses dental software with no errors
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Verify dental insurance and coverage
  • Post insurance payments and help with accounts receivables
  • Efficient in-patient flow by promptly greeting, checking-in/out
  • Receive proper documentation in a timely manner
  • Handle end of day closing procedures and prepare for following business day
  • Prepare trays with appropriate setup
  • Operate and maintain sterilizing equipment including autoclaves and ultrasonic
  • Organize and stock supplies
  • Clean and break down rooms
  • Properly prepare operatories for patient treatments
  • Assist patients with registration process and confirm copays and treatment plans are accurate and signed
  • Monitor patient in waiting areas to ensure superior customer service
  • Ensure waiting areas and restrooms are disinfected to meet CDC and safety guidelines
  • Inform doctors promptly when patients arrive and communicate schedule changes
  • Mail patient treatment reports to referring providers
  • Mail welcome packets and referral pads to general dentists for marketing
  • Coordinate and collaborate with peers and other departments
  • Work independently or in a team environment
  • Assist others and respond to patient and staff requests in real time
  • Communicate effectively with patients, peers, and supervisors
  • Provide timely need-to-know information
  • Ensure interactions with patients are positive and courteous
