Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • high school education or GED
  • associate's or technical degree in business, healthcare, or computer science preferred
  • experience in patient admissions or healthcare clerical work preferred
  • strong communication and organizational skills
  • proficiency with computer systems and data entry
  • ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • customer service orientation
  • knowledge of insurance and billing processes preferred

Job Duties

  • answer phone calls and direct them to appropriate personnel
  • admit patients into clinic and perform registration duties
  • prepare patient charts and complete referral authorizations
  • maintain department records, reports, and statistics
  • collect co-payments and verify insurance information
  • assist with billing forms and data entry
  • schedule patient appointments and coordinate medical film digitization
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of waiting rooms
  • provide coverage and assistance to maintain departmental standards
  • compile information for reports and meetings
  • perform other related job duties as assigned
