Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or SRNA
- BLS via the American Heart Association
- healthcare experience preferred

Job Duties
- Provide direct patient care as delegated by RN staff
- monitor and record vital signs
- assist in providing personal hygiene and physical care needs
- accurately measure, record, and report intake and output
- obtain and record daily weight
- perform blood glucose testing using blood glucose meter
- report changes in patient status promptly to RN
- perform as patient care companion when needed
- assist in admission, transfer and discharge process
- perform unit housekeeping needs
- act as a runner or transporter
- check and document refrigerator temperatures as delegated, report variances
- update assigned bed status
- maintain a safe environment by responding to alarms, call lights, telephones
- keep patient environment clean, perform comfort rounds, keep hallways clear of obstruction, report safety issues and broken equipment
- communicate with patient’s family, physicians, and unit personnel in a courteous and professional manner
- other duties as assigned by manager
