Job Requirements
- High school diploma or active enrollment in high school/GED program or one year previous job experience in lieu of diploma or GED
- Desire, drive, and compassion to provide exceptional patient and family experience
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Clearance for Act 34 background check
- Ability to perform in accordance with system-wide competencies
- Willingness to perform other duties as assigned

- Previous healthcare or customer service experience is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to infection control protocols
Job Duties
- Greet patients and families warmly and provide destination coordination and escort assistance
- Disseminate patient information while maintaining confidentiality
- Provide guidance on hospital policies, visiting hours, and parking
- Perform environmental cleaning and maintain patient and public areas
- Assemble and serve meals according to dietary requirements and maintain food safety
- Transport patients, equipment, and lab specimens safely throughout the hospital
- Manage supplies and equipment inventory and ensure proper stock levels
- Retrieve, set up, clean, and test telehealth carts
- Respond to patient call lights and assist with patient mobility
- Answer unit phones and distribute daily plans of care
- Maintain infection control protocols and adhere to UPMC values and patient experience behaviors
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary
