Job Requirements
- Must have desire, drive, and compassion to provide exceptional patient and family experience
- High School diploma OR active High School/GED program enrollment OR one year previous job experience required in lieu of diploma
- ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Act 34 clearance
- previous experience in healthcare or customer service preferred but not required

Job Duties
- Greets patients and families warmly and provides directions and escort assistance
- disseminates patient information while maintaining confidentiality
- issues courtesy parking discounts and validates patient parking
- cleans and organizes assigned areas including patient rooms and public spaces
- assembles and serves meals according to diet orders and maintains food safety
- transports patients, equipment, and specimens safely between hospital units
- retrieves, sets up, and maintains telehealth carts for patient appointments
- orders, organizes, and delivers supplies and equipment to patient units
- answers unit phones and responds to call lights under nursing assistant or PCT direction
- rounds hourly to ensure responsibilities are met
- prints and distributes daily plans of care
- promotes patient mobility and social interaction
- adheres to infection control and hand hygiene procedures
- follows mandatory reporting procedures for incidents and serious events
- exhibits UPMC values and service behaviors in all duties
- performs other duties as assigned
