Job Requirements

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year experience related to medical or hospital setting required
  • Insurance and over the counter collections experience preferred
  • Excellent grammar and communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Ability to type 45 wpm, use a 10-key calculator
  • Ability to read and understand insurance benefits
  • Accurate, mature, flexible, meticulous to detail
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of medical and financial information
  • Pleasant attitude in dealing with public and staff

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Perform patient registration for outpatients, emergency room patients, and clinic patients
  • Complete all required paperwork to ensure appropriate financial arrangements
  • Enter patient insurance verification data accurately and perform follow-up as needed
  • Implement collection efforts including patient and insurance contacts
  • Review registrations for completeness and perform auditing for the Business Office
  • Assist in collections, billing, medical record requests, and other assigned tasks
  • Welcome patients and visitors in a professional and inviting manner as the front door receptionist
