Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
 - one year of experience in customer service or patient access related functions
 - proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
 - ability to handle cash and multitask effectively
 - excellent computer skills
 - ability to train and cover other departments outside of patient access
 - part-time availability with Monday-Friday, first shift schedule
 
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED
 - one year of experience in customer service or patient access functions including registration, scheduling, and insurance verification
 - proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
 - strong computer skills and ability to operate office equipment
 - ability to train and provide cross coverage in multiple departments
 - excellent multitasking and communication skills
 
Job Duties
- registers patients in an accurate, efficient, and professional manner
 - conducts patient/guarantor interviews and explains hospital policies and financial responsibilities
 - follows check-in procedures and ensures all forms are completed and scanned
 - verifies insurance eligibility and provides advanced insurance verification as needed
 - maintains confidentiality of patient and employee information according to HIPAA guidelines
 - provides training and orientation to new and current staff on patient access functions
 - delivers financial counseling to uninsured or underinsured patients
 - supports scheduling including telehealth and total joint classes
 - assists other departments and locations with registration functions
 - acts as a mentor and role model promoting patient access initiatives
 - participates in performance improvement activities and departmental initiatives
