Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in patient access or customer service preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with registration software
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in patient registration or healthcare administration preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
- Proficiency with computer systems and electronic health records
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
Job Duties
- Meets with patient and/or patient's caregiver to exchange necessary information and documentation
- Provides explanation of visit, instructions, and addresses concerns and questions
- Communicates with referring provider's office, clinical department(s), and/or other appropriate personnel to exchange necessary information and determine schedule
- Verifies insurance benefits and obtains pre-certification/authorization as necessary
- Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow up
- Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy
- Uses critical thinking skills and decisive judgement to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
