Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • part-time availability on weekends
  • ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • excellent communication skills
  • capability to work with minimal supervision
  • basic computer skills
  • prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required

  • previous experience in registration or clerical duties preferred
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • proficiency with registration systems and basic computer applications
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • attention to detail and accuracy

  • knowledge of insurance verification and pre-certification processes

Job Duties

  • Meet with patient and/or patient's caregiver to exchange necessary information and documentation
  • provide explanation of visit, instructions, and address concerns and questions
  • communicate with referring provider's office, clinical departments, and/or other appropriate personnel to exchange necessary information and determine schedule
  • verify insurance benefits and obtain pre-certification/authorization as necessary
  • determine and accept required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refer to financial counselors for follow up
  • ensure that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy
  • employ critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
