Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience in a medical office or similar environment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to operate a multi-line phone
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Compliance with Sanford Health policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Post-secondary education helpful
  • One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting
  • Medical terminology helpful
  • Customer service skills essential
  • Six months customer service experience desired
  • May require BLS for certain locations and/or settings

Job Duties

  • Greet patients and verify demographics
  • Create, scan, and route documents or electronic forms
  • Inform patients about documents and capture signatures
  • Establish and assign financial responsibility and assist with arrangements
  • Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on account balances
  • Work with nursing team and providers to coordinate and schedule appointments
  • Obtain and coordinate referrals and conduct pre-authorization
