Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to work full time, 80 hours per pay period
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Capability of escorting and transporting patients including use of wheelchairs or oxygen tanks

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality
  • Experience in patient registration or medical office setting preferred
  • Ability to assist patients with mobility needs

Job Duties

  • Meets with patient and/or patient's caregiver to exchange necessary information and documentation
  • Provides explanation of visit, instructions, and addresses concerns and questions
  • Verifies insurance benefits and obtains pre-certification/authorization as necessary
  • Escorts and transports patients and visitors within facility, which may include a wheelchair or oxygen tank
  • Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow-up
  • Ensures all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered with timeliness and accuracy
  • Works independently with critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment
